One of the best Auckland camp

2chope's picture

One of the best Auckland camp grounds I have stayed in. Friendliest staff. I now use it as a base camp when I have to work.

a real handy site to stay at. We found it more than adequate for our needs. Would go again.

we stayed here because it was

Ronson35's picture

we stayed here because it was the closest campsite to the Big day out festival. facilities were all right, but a couple of people that stayed there were very anti social, also screaming during the night. we would try an other campsite next time.

We stayed there a few years

markaudoire's picture

We stayed there a few years ago and the site was clean and well positioned to catch a bus into the city.

The park its self is in good

ODW's picture

The park its self is in good condition with good facilities. Unfortunately there are very few sites in Auckland especially in the central area which is why we were told by this site they don't need to do discounts and to be fair this site was alway busy and this was in winter. However after traveling round New Zealand for over four months this is the only site where we got an unfriendly welcome and later told off for plugging in for a third night when we had only paid for two. We got a reluctant apology when we produced our reciept showing we had paid for three nights.

Its not in an especially nice area of Auckland but it is convenient. The site is well situated for getting in to Auckland center and is not too far from the Airport. There is also a big supermarket just round the corner.

All power sites are on flat

beatsmilking's picture

All power sites are on flat concrete with grass areas either side, with 1 park benches shared every 4 sites. All facilities are very clean, and the whole of the camps grounds are well kept. Within walking distance of the camp is a large PAK'n'SAVE supermarket, and the camp backs onto a nice park. Paid $18 (with kiwi parks $2 discount) for a powered site for 1 person.
