Aroha Island Ecological Centre

Three stars because of it's work and nothing else from me, sorry. A hideous tow across a narrow causeway causes a sweat just incase you meet someone. (towing a caravan that is), and no mention of this when booking.
Excellent wildlife centre and yes, they do good work, but a totally average campsite

Great unique site located on an island with land bridge. Small beach on lower camp ground. Powered sites, communal bbq and shower/toilet facilities on upper site. Facilities well maintained but limited so queues for toilets/showers when busy. Eco centre with Kiwi tours on island, kayak hire, short easy island walks.

This is not your average campsite, a real gem. Beautiful location. Non-commercial. Tranquil. Loved it.
