Don't come here!!! It is the most beautiful bay and camping ground, and its not busy, and we would like to keep it that way.
The facilities are simple, but adequate. The beach is right there, a safe beach for kids and easy to launch boats. Wind can pick up in the afternoons, but never a problem for the tents, only for the waterskiers who have to get up early for the glassy conditions.
Good sealed road, about an hour or so from Whangarei. Shop available over Christmas, has bread milk and icecream. Bring toilet paper and Whangarei District Council rubbish bags, or buy there from shop.
