Didn't see the other two reviews until after I stayed. They are completely out of date now. Had a great stay. Prices are good compared to everything else in the district. The toilets and showers are all very nice. Free showers, air-hand dryers, etc. Everything kept very clean and tidy. Plenty of room for tents. Can put your tent up anywhere you like in an area of about 5 acres, so have plenty of privacy. Great for kids, take their bikes and swimming gear, and they are busy all day. I don't mind curtains on the showers, there are actually two curtains, one across the shower box, and another to enclose a dressing area. When I pay only $15 a night (and there are none cheaper in the area), I think it is good value for money. I also prefer to take all my own cooking and eating utensils rather than use ones provided in a camp kitchen, so I don't see an issue with that. Fridge, freezer, microwave and cooking facilities all provided, so don't need any more. There are a few families that are staying longer than a couple of weeks, but their caravans all looked nice and tidy, and they were very nice to talk to. Would recommend, and will definitely be going back.
I did wonder should I give this a three star rating, as it's location is excellent, right next to the river, plus being dog friendly and by comparison reasonably priced. However these days I think we all should expect more and sadly this site doesn't deliver.
For example the showers are just curtained, I mean no-one would be happy to use a toilet with just a curtain for privacy, so why would you expect a shower user to be ?
Also, whilst in the toilet block, there were no towels, paper or otherwise ! This is just mean - and un-hygienic.
The site is predominantly occupied by permanent dwellings - it seemed at times that the site speed limit was for visitors only !
Other facilities included a medium sized kitchen, poorly equipped, a laundry that cost $4 a go and some Mitre10 BBQ's.
Like the previous reviewer I agree that this site has seen better days.
But the killer question , Would I go back there ? sadly, no (not unless they get their act together).
Great spot close to river, camp site very run down and @ $14.00 a night per person powered or non powered site is questionable. Block B toilet / shower was very poor rotten linnings in shower water pressure very poor. Would not go back again unless upgrade was done. Pity this camp has all the right earmarks to been a great camp.
