Lovely camp, slightly further

Lovely camp, slightly further off the main road. Well worth the drive though. Nice beach walk, one and a half hours each way, to a wet land area and further on if you are feeling energetic.

Shower and toilet facilities

Shower and toilet facilities here are very well maintained by DOC. It's not as accessible as the nearby Tapotupotu camp - theres a 16KM gravel road to travel on (but apart from the dust - as gravel roads go - this is a good one) - meaning this camp is not so crowded as its neighbour. The camp is next to a winding stream which has nice shallow bathing spots on its curves before it runs into the sea. The beach is a nice curving sheltered bay - a good spot to kayak from, and a good location to begin or end some of the fantastic walks in the area.

Honesty Box: $7.60 adult/night, $3.50 child/night
