Whanganui River Top 10 Holiday Park

I'm giving this 2 not because it's a poor site - far from it. It's a top ten and you expect it to have all the bells and whistles - which it does, no I'm giving this just two because of the cost !
At $22 per person per night I think it's towards the high end of acceptable cost, especially when, when we were there it was winter season and half the facilities weren't even available.
Sorry to say, and this is a personal bug bear with me, but I fail to see how a second person merits the same fee as the first person. They are taking up no more room and are unlikely to use more of the facilities. Just a top ten rip off.
Also the proudly placed NZMCA sign counts for nothing as you have to stay more than 2 nights to get a discount!

if I could give it more than 5 stars I would. great ammenities, showers and the people are really nice.

Beautiful park, very well kept. Some of the best facilities in NZ. The new deluxe motels were outstanding, the best that we have stayed in at any holiday park in NZ. We'll be back. Kids loved the heated pool and playground.

Nice location and all the facilities you could want - clean and tidy. Unfortunately like a lot of Top 10 camps now very overpriced. Around $42.00 a night for 2 on a power site. They offer discount to NZMCA members but still way too dear.Possibly worth it if you have children to keep entertained.

Lovely river side camping ground, we pitched our tent under a tree and had a relaxing stay. Well equipped for children - jumping pillow, playground, trampoline and pool. Facilities were clean and tidy. Not that close to town centre however we thought it was worth the short drive.
