Lovely peaceful site by a

Lovely peaceful site by a small stony beach. Friendly owner. Very popular for private owner fishing boats. Good clean basic facilities (50c for showers). We paid $30 for 2 adults with power early March 2014. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed there last Waitangi

prefect's picture

I stayed there last Waitangi weekend. Our family of four went there in our Bedford house bus and boat in tow.
My description of the place would be paradise, what a beautiful place and with bulk snapper near the mussel farms and offshore islets.
The place was chocka full and busy but the manager and his wife who you would think be stressed out were very friendly and helpful.
Cant believe with the ramp hire is a self drive tractor to launch and retrieve the boat.
I was parked near a NZMCA rally from the Waikato somewhere. I had initially had doubts being parked by the old buggers and their flash motorhomes but in fact they were the nicest campers I have ever met. Got a hangover to prove it.
One of the staff there showed me the setup and tips for soft bait fishing which I am going to do next time I go there.
I have always been a fan of going to different motorcamps but I shall return like McArthur to Papaaroha.
