Nice reasonably priced camp.

Marilyn R's picture

Nice reasonably priced camp. I didn't agree with one normal hand towel thrown over a rail for hand-drying in the toilet. Not hygienic. The location of this camp, to the beach, Cycleway/walkway and the wharf is great. The rules of 'strictly no dogs' should be changed because there were dogs in camp. I will definitely be returning here to holiday again.

Excellent location - next

travellersads's picture

Excellent location - next door to the beach, walking distance to town centre and supermarkets, and cafe/shop/ice cream stop across the road. We usually camp here over Xmas/New Year and it's generally fully booked - security guards keep an eye on things, facilities have always been kept really clean. There are enough showers and toilets - if you need to queue it will only be for a couple of minutes. There's also a tennis court by the beach and the camp ground hires out boogie boards and other sporting type equipment. *****Do agree with peregrinak though, key pads can be a bit of a pain and I would recommend doing a drive through or walk through the camp if it's your first visit and choosing a tent site on the beach side. We've stayed close to the road too and it's not our preferred spot. If you want to stay over Xmas/New Year you need to book a few months in advance as it's a popular camp ground with families.*******

This camp was clean and well

peregrinak's picture

This camp was clean and well run, although multiple keypad codes for bathrooms and kitchens was confusing. The real problem however was the noise from the road alongside. We were given a tent site very close to this without any warning. Large trucks were travelling (presumably towards the nearby port) all night and we got very little sleep. We had planned to stay 2 nights but one was all we could take.
