Great semi private camp site between the pines. Lots of rabbits and birds. Great facilities, kitchen and large dining room with fire place. Some views to Lake Pukaki and Mt Cook. Water points were turned off when we were there.
Good impression when you first arrive with a modern office offering all the activities that the area is famous for. The camp is not quite as fancy. The powered sites are hidden in the trees, allowing no views of Mt. Cook - a shame as it's right there! Powered sites are also rocky and, for the most part on a slope. Camp and unpowered sites are better located on grass. Easy to find a tent site with a gorgeous view to the mountain. Shower blocks are older but useable. Kitchens large enough though nothing else provided. A nice new bbq block, with a view to the mountain makes me wonder if changes are afoot. Hopefully they will upgrade the showers next. NO DUMP STATION! Make sure you empty before you come here. Also bring everything you need - fill up with fuel, LPG, food, wine whatever because it's a long drive to go get it in Twizel. Having said that an amazing area - so much to do, such incredible scenery.
