nice spot and nice kitchen, but there is just the basic stuff in the kitchen. The vicinity is not so nice and the shower (alone hot) is just warm for 0, 50 $
This reasonably large camp ground is close by to the beach. The grounds are elevated and sloping, providing for some with sea views. Plenty of large trees give shelter and shade. Facilities are old and 50 cents required for 5 min shower - and with only 1 shower block for the whole camp some of the sites are quite a distance away. I might give this camp 3 stars for 2 or more people, but the $28 for 1 on a powered site is far too much. Also, I paid for 2 nights, but decided to stay for 1 only - the manager gave a refund - but then decided after puting in the receipt book $28 for 1 night proceeded to refund only $25. Feeling totally ripped off - I'm only giving it 1 star, best avoided unless in a group. Shame because Muriwai itself is a good location to visit.

Great location right next to the beach, and backing onto a golf course. The grounds are park-like with mature trees, and the camp sites are all grassy. The facilities are a little old and showers are coin-operated, but we really enjoyed a relaxing stay here. Theres a decent cafe just down the road, the beach was great for walking (it goes on forever!) and a Gannet colony here too. We paid $25 for 2 people on power.
