For over nighting and walking to the Pinnacles..great, but as previous post has warned very very windy and hard to find a sheltered spot. Loos could have done with a swish out, otherwise all good.

no mobile reception, poor radio reception (no idea about sat TV as we don't have one).
When we were there it was very busy, (new years). and sadly the usual idiots were ruining it for the rest of us. It's a pack in-pack out so why people level their beer bottles and general crap is beyond me. Also it was a total fire ban, not that you'd know by the number who had a 'small fire'! For god's sake!!!
That said the site itself is fine. Near to the beach for fishing. A great walk to the pinnacles and a short ride to the lighthouse and seal colony.
At $12 a night reasonably cheap so why then do some people not think they have to pay?

word of warning. in strong winds it's very, very gusty here!

Fairly small area - but good

Fairly small area - but good location right next to interesting Putangirua Pinnacles walk. Ground is pretty level - occasional picnic bench scattered around. Well maintained flushing toilet. Good stopover point for walk and trip to the Palliser lighthouse.
