Avalanche Creek Shelter Campsite

Great location only issue is the trains that come through during the night as rail line backs on to camp.

A beaut wee spot to base yourself for a wander around Arthurs Pass. Beautiful water available at the shelter. Keep an eye on your backpack as sneaky Keas have no hesitation in helping themselves to your lunch. The visitors centre is well worth a look,very interesting and almost like a mini Museum. The little Church is always open and worth going inside. Plenty of walks to do,the Devils Punch Bowl is worth the effort, lots of steps.
